Ranbir Kapoor channeled his inner ‘animal’ at a recent award show. The actor, who has been nominated in the best category at several award shows including the News18 Showsha Reel Awards 2024, was seen attending an award ceremony in Gujarat. The ceremony was officiated by Karan Johar and Ayushmann Khurana. A video of the award ceremony was shared on social media, showing Ranbir sitting in the audience with Karan and Ayushmann hosting.
In the video, Karan seems to be seeking help from Ranbir. “Ranbir hi kar sakta hai, Ranbir hi karega, Ranbir ko hi karna chahiye, Ranbir must help us,” Karan said to Ranbir. An angry Ranbir interrupted him and repeated the dialogue from Animal: “Sunayi de raha hai, behra nahi hoon main (I can hear, I am not deaf).” His reaction shocked Karan. Although Ranbir looked angry, it seemed to be part of the trio’s performance for the award show.

For the uninitiated, Ranbir played the role of an aggressive son in Animals. The film revolves around the dysfunctional relationship between father and son. Ranbir, who won the Best Actor award for the show, remembered his father, the late Rishi Kapoor, in his acceptance speech. “I would like to dedicate this award to Rishi Kapoor sir – Papa Meri Jaan. Every day I think of you and I think of you. Everything I feel for you… love, affection I am trying to convey through this part and I hope you Peaceful rest there,” he said.
He also dedicated the award to Animals director Sandeep Vanga Reddy and his daughter Raha Kapoor. He went on to reveal that his nickname for Raha was “Naughty.”
