The Irish actor joined the Prime Video series in its second season as a priest who becomes involved in a forbidden romance with Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s eponymous character.
Even though the final season ended on a rather tragic note, fans couldn’t help but call for another season of the quirky comedy.
However, Waller-Bridge, the show’s creator and writer, believes that “the story is complete.”
“Honestly, it actually felt like the most beautiful, beautiful way to say goodbye to it,” she told reporters after a triumphant night at the 2019 Emmy Awards.
“It does feel good. Get out there. You can’t reach any higher than this,” the actress added.
