Chennai Super Kings are back to winning ways in some style. With stellar performances from Tushar Deshpande, Mustafizur Rahman and Ravindra Jadeja, and brilliant batting from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Kolkata by 7 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Knight Riders (KKR) match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Monday. CSK continued to dominate in their fort and they had no trouble getting home, ending KKR’s unbeaten run in this tournament. Chennai captain Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 67 to seal the victory for his team.

MS Dhoni also came in to bat and CSK supporters could not keep calm. In fact, they made so much noise that KKR’s Andre Russell had to cover his ears.

Talking about the match, Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra put on a 138-run chase and the opener put huge pressure on the KKR bowlers.

Vaibhav Arora drew first blood for KKR as he took CSK opener Rachin Ravindra for 10 runs. New batsman Daryl Mitchell was bowled by Ramandeep at deep backward leg in the sixth over.

Daryl Mitchell and Gaikwad continued the charge, hitting the KKR bowlers at regular intervals. CSK captain Gaikwad scored 50 off 45 balls.

Rinku Singh and Shreyas formed a 27-run partnership but Rinku was dismissed after scoring just 9 runs.

Andre Russell batted next at center field. The right-handed batsman scored 10 runs with Shriyas off the bowling of Tushar Deshpande in the 19th over, when the team scored 127, and later with Shriyas Shreyas built a 15-run partnership before being dismissed.
