Union Home Minister Amit Shah has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, saying the Bharatiya Janata Party leader has an “A-grade governance record” over the past 10 years and has developed Plans for the next 25 years to push India on the path of India. On March 11, days before announcing plans for the Lok Sabha elections, the Union Home Ministry notified the implementation rules of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The CAA aims to provide Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim immigrants, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians, who migrated from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan and Arrive in India before December 31, 2014.
