Amit Shah: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ‘assured’ to implement Uniform Civil Code in India

PM Modi has 'guaranteed' to formulate Uniform Civil Code: Amit Shah

Amit Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “guaranteed” a unified civil code across India.

Kodwal, Uttarakhand:

Union Minister Amit Shah today said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “assured” to implement the same Uniform Civil Code in the country as in Uttarakhand.

Addressing an election rally in Kodwa, Amit Shah said that from the very beginning of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, its leaders had promised that there would be no religion-based laws in the country and that there would be a Uniform Civil Code ( UCC).

“Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami introduced UCC for the first time in the state. Prime Minister Modi in our ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto) assured to introduce UCC across the country in the same manner,” the BJP leader said.

He also attacked Congress president Mallikarjun Haq for questioning the “relevance” of the Kashmir issue with other countries.

“Congress president Mallikarjun Haq said the people of Uttarakhand and Rajasthan have nothing to do with Kashmir.

“(Mallikarjun) Kharge doesn’t know that the soldiers of Garhwal shed their utmost blood to save Kashmir,” Amit Shah here in support of BJP’s candidate for Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat Ani Anil Baluni said at a poll rally.

He said during the Congress-led UPA, anyone would come from Pakistan and return after triggering blasts, but after Narendra Modi came to power, Pakistan eliminated terror from its turf through surgeries and air strikes elements, taking befitting revenge for their dastardly attacks in Uri and Pulwama.

Amit Shah also accused the Congress party of using “abusive words” against former CDS Bipin Rawat, saying the opposition party’s culture allowed it to insult a brave warrior like him.

He also dismissed Mr Haq’s assertion that Narendra Modi’s third term as prime minister would end reservation in the country.

“(Mallikarjun) Kharge said reservations will disappear if Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister for the third time. Modi is the biggest supporter of reservations. We will neither withdraw reservations nor allow any People do that,” Amit Shah said.
