New Delhi:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday congratulated security forces for their successful fight against Maoists in Chhattisgarh and said the Modi government was determined to rid the country of the scourge.

Mr. Shah said that due to the offensive policies of the government and the efforts of the security forces, Maoism is now restricted to a small area and soon Chhattisgarh and the entire country will be completely free of Maoism.

“Today, a large number of Naxalites were killed during an operation by security forces in Chhattisgarh. I congratulate all the security personnel who bravely completed this operation and wish a speedy recovery to the brave policemen who were injured,” Mr. Shah said in Indian Idiom wrote “X”.

The Home Minister said this was the biggest enemy of development, peace and a bright future of the youth.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are determined to rid the country of the scourge of Naxalism,” he said.

They said three security personnel were injured in the fierce gun battle and a large number of weapons were seized at the scene.
