New Delhi:

Responding to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s criticism of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Union Home Minister Amit Shah insisted that Aam The AAP supremo’s outburst stemmed from revelations of alleged corruption cases in the party and said he must speak out about Bangladeshi infiltrators if he did so due to national security concerns.

Arvind Kejriwal this week reiterated his previous remarks on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), stating that the number of immigrants will be higher now than after independence. He further claimed that law and order would break down, leading to an increase in thefts, robberies and rapes.

Speaking to ANI, Amit Shah said, “Delhi Chief Minister lost his temper after the alleged corruption in his party came to light.”

“He (Kejwal) did not know that all these people have taken refuge in our country. They are living in India. Those who arrived in our country in 2014 will be given citizenship,” Shah said.

“If he is worried, why is he not talking about Bangladeshi infiltrators? Why is he not protesting against the Rohingyas? Because they are doing vote bank politics. He will face a very tough time during the Delhi elections and that is why he” Vote bank politics is being practiced. Aren’t the Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators taking our jobs? He is only raising the voice of minorities against Jains, Buddhists and Parsis,” the Union Minister said.

“He will face huge difficulties in the Delhi elections. Aren’t the Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators taking away our jobs? He has only raised the voice of minorities against Jains, Buddhists and Parsis, ” he added.

Amit Shah further said that leaders like Arvind Kejriwal have no sympathy for those who come here after facing persecution in their own country.

“They forget the context of Partition. These refugees came here after leaving behind properties worth millions of dollars. Why don’t we listen to their problems? They can’t find jobs and education here. Why don’t we show sympathy to them? Partition. The country was not their decision. Congress was the one who promised them citizenship. Now they have broken that promise,” he said.

On March 11, days before announcing plans for the Lok Sabha elections, the Union Home Ministry notified the implementation rules of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

The CAA aims to provide Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim immigrants, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians, who migrated from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan and Arrive in India before December 31, 2014.
