Reacting to the controversy over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s health condition in Tihar jail, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said top brass should be concerned about his denial of injection Insulin news.

Mr. Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case related to the Delhi government’s now-defunct excise tax policy. He has been lodged in Tihar Jail since April 1.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that the Tihar authorities have now asked AIIMS to send a diabetes specialist, contradicting their earlier stand on adequate medical facilities for diabetic patients in the jail.

He also said that a “conspiracy” was being hatched to harm Kejriwal, who was in judicial custody.

“There are two aspects to this. Arvind Kejriwal said he needs insulin and he needs to consult a doctor. He said he wants to consult his personal doctor over video call.

“On the other hand, the BJP and Tihar Jail said he is fine and does not need insulin. According to them, he is fine,” the Delhi minister added.
