Ajith Kumar pays last respects to Vetri Duraisamy and visits the latter’s home to express condolences

Actor Ajith Kumar visited the residence of Tamil director Vetri Duraisamy, son of former Chennai mayor Saidai Duraisamy, in Chennai on Tuesday afternoon to pay his last respects. On February 4, Duraisamy’s car met with an accident and fell into a river in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. His body was found on February 12 and was brought back to Chennai.

In a video that surfaced on social media, Ajith Kumar visited Duraisamy’s house to express his condolences. He was accompanied by his wife Shalini. Ajith and Vitri are good friends.

Earlier today, Kamal Haasan also expressed his condolences to the family through his X (formerly Twitter) account. “The news of the death of Vetri Duraisamy, son of former Mayor of Chennai and friend Saidai Duraisamy is deeply saddening. It is unimaginable that a young man who had just started his career should lose his life in such an accident. My heartfelt condolences to the father who lost his son Condolences. I wish him a speedy recovery,” he wrote in Tamil.

How did Vetri Duraisamy die?

According to reports, Vetri Duraisamy and his friends were traveling from Shimla to Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, when his car met with an accident and fell into the river. According to NewsBreak, the driver suffered a heart attack while driving the vehicle, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. He was found dead at the scene. A search was subsequently launched to find Vitri’s body, which was eventually found 3 kilometers away from the accident scene on February 12. Later, his body was sent to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
