Ahead of heat wave, Ministry of Health issues guidelines

Heat wave guidance: This follows the Ministry of Health’s earlier list of precautionary measures to deal with high temperatures.

As summer approaches, the Department of Health has taken proactive steps to ensure public safety amid rising temperatures and potential heat waves. In a recent announcement on related diseases and implement a comprehensive action plan.

  • Avoid going out between 12 noon and 4 p.m.

  • Do not leave children and pets unattended in vehicles

  • Avoid alcohol, tea, coffee, sugary drinks and carbonated drinks

  • Don’t walk barefoot

This comes after the Ministry of Health earlier listed precautionary measures to deal with high temperatures.

  • Monitor the health status of elderly people or patients living alone every day

  • Keep your home cool, use curtains, blinds or umbrellas, and open windows at night

  • Try to stay on lower floors during the day

  • Use fans and wet clothes to cool down your body
