Age is just a number: 99-year-old ‘bubbly’ Indian woman becomes U.S. citizen

A 99-year-old Indian woman has officially become a U.S. citizen, opening a new chapter in her life. The woman, Dai Bai, took the oath of allegiance as she completed naturalization procedures at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office in Orlando.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services released a photo of Debai in a wheelchair, holding a certificate, posing with her daughter and a sworn official. The agency described the nonagenarian as a “vivacious” woman and said “age is just a number.”

“They say age is just a number. That seems to be true for this vivacious 99-year-old who became a #NewUSCitizen in our Orlando office. Dai Bai is from India and is happy to take the pledge of allegiance. She is pictured here with her daughter For a group photo, our officers were sworn in. Congratulations to Debai!” USCIS posted on X on Friday.
