Patna, Nov 19 (IANS) After its landslide victory in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the NDA has called a meeting of its legislature party on Wednesday.
Earlier, the two largest alliance partners of the NDA – BJP and JDU – will hold separate meetings in Patna to finalize their strategy for the joint legislative party meeting and formation of the next government.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new government is scheduled for November 20 and will be held at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
Preparations for the event are going on on a large scale, security arrangements and stage construction work is already underway.
The meeting of JDU MLAs will be held at 11 am at the residence of minister Shravan Kumar, while a separate meeting of BJP will also be held at the party’s state headquarters in Patna.
After both these meetings, there will be a joint meeting of the NDA Legislative Party in the Central Hall of the Assembly at 3.30 pm, in which Nitish Kumar will be formally elected as the leader of the NDA Legislative Party.
After being elected, Nitish Kumar will go to Raj Bhavan and formally stake claim to form the government.
On November 20, Nitish Kumar will take oath as Chief Minister for the 10th time, which will be a historic milestone in the politics of Bihar.
The swearing-in program is being organized as a grand celebration. Among the high-profile attendees will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda, several Union ministers, chief ministers of several states, senior NDA leaders and dignitaries.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar went to Gandhi Maidan and personally inspected the arrangements.
He was accompanied by prominent NDA leaders including Samrat Chaudhary and Nitin Naveen as well as senior officials, including Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, Patna District Magistrate Thiagarajan SM, Senior Superintendent of Police Karthikeya K Sharma and several officials overseeing the preparations.
Preparations are in full swing to ensure that the ceremony is conducted smoothly and grandly. NDA leaders hope that around three lakh people will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
