India-UK joint military training exercise ‘Ajeya Warrior 25’ begins in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Nov 17 (IANS) The eighth edition of India-UK joint military training exercise Ajeya Warrior-25 began on Monday at Mahajan Field Firing Range, the foreign training node in Rajasthan.

Scheduled from 17 to 30 November 2025, the 14-day exercise underlines the growing defense cooperation and interoperability between the Indian Army and the British Army.

A total of 240 personnel with equal representation from both the armies are participating in this exercise.

The Indian Army contingent comprises soldiers from the prestigious Sikh Regiment, renowned for its operational excellence and professionalism.

The exercise is being conducted under the mandate of the United Nations, with the primary focus being on enhancing joint capabilities in counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban areas.

Over the next two weeks, the participating soldiers will undergo an intensive and intensive training course.

Key activities include joint mission planning at the brigade level, integrated tactical exercises, simulation-based scenarios, and company-level field training exercises designed to replicate realistic counter-terrorism contingencies.

These modules aim to strengthen interoperability, enhance tactical efficiency and develop coordinated responses to complex operational challenges.

Special emphasis will be placed on sharing best practices, refining standard operating procedures and improving operational coordination for peacekeeping and counter-terrorism operations.

Established in 2011 and held biennially, Ajeya Warrior has become a major engagement between the Indian and British armies.

The 2025 edition builds on the legacy of previous iterations, reflecting mutual trust, a shared strategic vision and a commitment to promoting regional security and global peace.

The exercise not only strengthens professional relations between the two armies but also provides a platform for cultural exchange and strengthening defense diplomacy.
