Australian police said on Tuesday that community unrest following a knife attack at an Assyrian church in Sydney left at least two police officers hospitalized and their vehicles damaged.

NSW Acting Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland said police were injured by “bottles, bricks and other objects” thrown by community members as they tried to approach a man who stabbed Bishop. The church leader was injured in the attack with non-life-threatening injuries.
