Chennai Super Kings are going all out against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2024 opener on Friday. Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman breathed fire as he broke down CSK’s backline with four wickets in the first two overs. He stripped the caps of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green. This was CSK’s first game under new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad and his team gave their all in both bowling and fielding. It is obvious that Virat Kohli is attracted by the excellent teamwork of Rachin Ravindra and Ajinkya Rahane.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf du Plessis won the coin toss and was selected to play in the exciting opener of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). CSK will enter this high-pressure south derby with a new captain, with MS Dhoni handing over the baton to opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.
CSK and RCB have met 31 times so far, with Chennai winning 20 and Bangalore managing only 10 wins.
Four overseas players Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Maheesh Theekshana, Mustafizur Rahman and domestic player Sameer Rizvi will make their debut for CSK.
