After the match, Irfan Pathan, a member of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup-winning team, blamed Hardik Pandya for MI’s dreadful performance.

Speaking on Star Sports, former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta spoke on whether Hardik Pandya’s poor form in the IPL will be a factor in his selection in the T20 World Cup squad: “Not so much. I mean Obviously, IPL is a very important tournament but you also have to keep in mind what credit he has achieved in the past, how he has performed in the past and I think Hardik has done OK.

“We have seen him bat lower down the order, and that’s where he will be expected to bat. He has played some good innings; he has bowled decently.
