Mumbai, October 24 (IANS) A new book titled ‘Modi Mission’ written by Barjis Desai was released at the Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Friday evening.
The event saw the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Governor Acharya Devvrat, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and author Barjis Desai, who lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a leader defined by conviction, discipline and selfless service.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the book is different from other articles written on Modi as it shows “how a person’s values ββand character are formed amidst hardships.”
He said that the author has beautifully portrayed the journey of PM Modi from an ordinary childhood to becoming India’s most transformational leader.
Fadnavis said, “Modi ji’s early life was full of struggle. He understood sacrifice at a very young age – he would eat less so that his family could get more food. From the age of nine he understood what selflessness meant.”
He said, “He dedicated his life to a mission. No one had imagined that an RSS pracharak would one day become the Prime Minister of India. The author has described how PM Modi addressed ideological challenges from Article 370 to Ram Mandir, triple talaq and judicial reforms with deep consciousness and clarity.”
Governor Acharya Devvrat, in his address, described PM Modi as a “fortunate person, who chose his own path and showed the right path to others.”
He praised the Prime Minister’s courage in abrogating Article 370 β an issue that many feared could lead to unrest.
The Governor said, “It was said that if Article 370 was removed, rivers of blood would flow, but Modi ji proved the world wrong – not a single bird fluttered. He achieved it without any bloodshed.”
He also highlighted PM Modi’s decisive ability in matters of national interest.
He said, “Whether it is buying oil from Russia or standing strong in front of President Trump, every decision was taken for the farmers and people of India. Modi ji only thinks about the country.”
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde praised the book as an honest portrayal of PM Modi’s life and called it a “mirror of his struggles and truth”.
He said India’s transformation in the last 11 years has been “phenomenal”.
Shinde said, “Modi ji is the definition of hard work. He could have been a saint, a soldier or a preacher β destiny made him the latter and through him India found its strength.”
He said that parts of the book should be included in school education “so that the next generation can learn from his journey.”
