The police statement of facts was made public after Navid Akram’s video court appearance from a Sydney hospital on Monday.
The statement alleged that the 24-year-old and his father Sajid Akram, 50, threw four improvised explosive devices into a crowd attending a Jewish event on Bondi Beach on December 14, but they did not explode, ABC reports.
The New South Wales court’s media unit could not immediately provide a copy of the statement.
Police The father was shot dead and the son injured.
The son was charged last week with 59 crimes, including 15 counts of murder and one count of terrorism.
