A pro-Israel group that was named “Anti-Semite of the Year” drew sharp criticism for the nomination. Children’s YouTube teacher Ms. Rachel Whereas Omitting more far-flung data.
StopAntisemitism, a US-based nonprofit known for sharing photos of people criticizing Israel’s actions in Gaza on social media, on Sunday urged followers to vote for its top 3 candidates.
The group faced criticism for the list, particularly for its inclusion of Ms. Rachel, who has become a vocal advocate for children in Gaza. White supremacist Nick FuentesWho wrote on social media that they felt humiliated at their exclusion.
“Ms. Rachel is a preschool teacher who speaks out for starving children in Gaza. This is not anti-Semitism,” key Democratic Representative Ro Khanna wrote on Twitter. “I hope thousands of people will join me in standing up for them.”
Candidates included Conservative commentator Tucker Carlsonfar right Conspiracy theorist Stu PetersUFC fighter and Holocaust denier Bryce Mitchell and pro-Palestinian TikToker Guy Christensen.
Other nominees included desperate Housewives Actress Marcia Cross, and just like that star Cynthia Nixon, as well as American activist Kaila Walsh – all of whom have been vocal critics of Israel’s war in Gaza.
The list also includes hosts Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur young turksA progressive political commentary network.
Social media users immediately criticized the list, especially for its inclusion of popular children’s entertainers.
One user wrote, “Including Ms. Rachel with Stu Peters is disgusting and helps further anti-Semitism by obscuring the distinction between criticisms of Israel + actual Jew hatred.”
“Remind that StopAntisemites nominated Ms. Rachel for Antisemite of the Year because she raises money for starving and burned Gazan children and it’s a bad look for them,” another person chimed in.
One X user said, “In exchange for celebrities, child advocates and other activists, a self-proclaimed Nazi (Nick Fuentes) was let go simply because he said Israel should stop the massacre of children in Gaza and the genocide of Palestinians.”
The social media user continued: “Half of these are anti-Semites, but half aren’t – and leaving out the people who have publicly stated they are actual Nazis??? @StopAntisemites is not looking to stop actual antisemitism. It is looking to harass, intimidate, and fire anyone who dares to criticize Israel’s clear violations of international law.”
Even Fuentes, a white nationalist who denies the genocide, seemed confused by his name not appearing on the list.
“Why wasn’t I nominated for Anti-Semite of the Year,” he wrote on X Monday.
In a follow-up post, StopAntisemitism said it does not nominate individuals more than once and had previously nominated Fuentes.
The group wrote, “Although he was a finalist a few years ago, his absence from this year’s cycle does not erase his anti-Semitism. Rather, it allows us to focus on other individuals who are spreading hate.”
StopAntisemitism, which has more than 300,000 followers on Twitter, was founded in 2018 in “response to increasing anti-Semitic violence”. Since the start of the Israel–Hamas war in 2023, the group has begun sharing social media profiles and employment details of people it identifies as anti-Semites.
Advocates for the group say they are able to identify neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers. However, some social media users believe that the group disproportionately focuses on Muslim people, pro-Palestinian actions, and non-prominent individuals. according to Israel’s time.
StopAntisemitism shared several posts on X explaining why certain candidates were nominated this year.
“From undermining white supremacy to promoting the anti-Semitic ‘Great Replacement’ theory, Carlson has made a career out of turning extremist dog whistles into broadcast-ready talking points, and has legitimized voices promoting Holocaust revisionism, conspiracy, and hate,” the group wrote.
Another post dedicated to Marcia Cross stated that the actress “has traded her on-screen career for a disturbing online campaign targeting Israel and the Jewish people.”
In October, StopAntisemitism named Cynthia Nixon its “Antisemite of the Week” for boycotting Israeli film institutions and criticizing the war in Gaza.

A former childhood teacher from Maine, Ms. Rachel, whose full name is Rachel Accorso, has garnered nearly 15 million subscribers on YouTube with her mix of educational videos and songs for young children. She has also become a fierce advocate for the child victims of Gaza and told Independent She was inspired to speak out after seeing videos and pictures on social media of children being killed, injured and malnourished.
“I couldn’t look away from the scale and severity of the suffering I was seeing every day,” she said in January.

He was a finalist several years ago and we do not recertify candidates from year to year. His absence from this year’s cycle in no way erases his anti-Semitism. Rather, it allows us to focus on other individuals who are spreading hatred and bigotry.”
