According to the synopsis of the new book, Galinda grows up as the youngest of four children in an aristocratic but “down on her luck” family, where she is “both pampered and neglected”.
The book, scheduled to be released in September 2026, will chronicle Shige’s childhood against social and economic tensions before attending university and becoming Elphaba’s best friend.
