Chief Superintendent Lewis Hughes of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) told the hearing that Mr Dolby was hit in the chest when an armed officer fired from behind the door and was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.15am.
Moments earlier, Mr Kravitz, a father of three, died after being stabbed by al-Shami, a British citizen of Syrian origin, who launched the attack by driving his Kia Picanto past security staff and the outer gates of the synagogue around 9.30am.
Al-Shami then wielded a knife and tried to enter the synagogue wearing a fake suicide belt before being shot by armed police.
Mr Hughes again gave a brief account of the circumstances to the court, saying that al-Shami had used his car, then got out to attack the worshippers.
He said: “The offender exited the vehicle carrying a knife and immediately stabbed Mr Kravitz in the upper torso, head and neck area.”
Members of the public and Community Safety Trust (CST) administered first aid and CPR and the victim was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead at 10.45am.
Alexia Durran, the chief coronial judge of England and Wales who presided over the hearing, said her provisional findings were that Mr Kravitz died of a knife wound and Mr Dolby died of a gunshot wound.
The hearing, which lasted about 45 minutes, was adjourned for pre-investigation review on 18 February 2026.
