Bihar won’t forget era of Jungle raj: Jitan Ram Manjhi slams Mahagathbandhan

New Delhi, Oct 29 (IANS) Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Grand Alliance over its recently released manifesto and said the people of Bihar have not forgotten the era of “jungle raj” and “terrorism rule”.

Speaking to IANS, Manjhi said the Grand Alliance’s promises were nothing more than attempts to erase the dark memories of their previous regime.

Manjhi said, “We are from Magadha. We have seen the days of jungle raj and terror raj, when there was no sign of development and Bihar was trembling in every way.”

He said, “The double engine government of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has improved the situation. Now to erase that stigma, they are making big claims and making big announcements. We believe that the people of Bihar are not so naive that they will forget the rule of their ancestors.”

Manjhi credited the NDA government for restoring law and order, improving infrastructure and taking Bihar towards development after years of neglect.

He said the state’s progress in road connectivity, education and welfare schemes was visible in all districts, especially in rural areas where development was once a distant dream.

Expressing similar sentiments, BJP leader and former Union minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that the grand alliance’s promises were “nothing but a pack of lies”.

He emphasized that the people of Bihar have already made up their mind in favor of NDA.

Hussain said, “The NDA storm has started and everyone will be swept away in it.”

He said, “The Tejashwi Yadav-led grand alliance is making false promises of jobs, while their real intention is to enrich themselves. We have seen how schemes like ‘land for jobs’ cheated and disappointed the people. This time, the people of Bihar will not be misled.”

As the Bihar Assembly election campaign gathers pace, NDA leaders have doubled down on comparing the alleged “chaos” of the past with a “record of stability and progress”, making the debate over the state’s governance legacy a central election issue.

Elections will be held in Bihar on 6th and 11th November and the results will be announced on 14th November.
