Patna: After RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav attacked the NDA government over alleged mismanagement of train services during the Chhath festival, Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal hit back, accusing the former chief minister of spreading misinformation.
Jaiswal said, “Trains running for Bihar are in the official records, and no one can dispute it. Lalu Prasad Yadav does not even know who is running his X (formerly Twitter) account. He has always used catchphrases to mislead people, and now those managing his social media are doing the same.”
He said, “They should avoid spreading rumors at least during Chhath festival.”
Reacting to RJD’s poster projecting Tejasvi Yadav as a hero, Jaiswal said, “NDA is the army of five Pandavas, while they are Kauravas. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, Rahul Gandhi and Tejasvi Yadav marched in Bihar against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and later stole the title of Jana Hero from Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur. This is an insult to Bihar.”
Jaiswal said, “Jan Nayak can only refer to Karpoori Thakur and no one else. Now RJD has removed Jan and calls Tejashwi just a hero, but as the elections progress, he will turn into a villain.”
Earlier in the day, Lalu launched a scathing attack on the BJP and NDA governments, accusing them of misleading the public over the operation of special trains for the festival.
Lalu wrote on Twitter, “The uncrowned king of lies and master of hollow promises had claimed that during Chhath, 12,000 out of 13,198 trains in the country will be run for Bihar. This also turned out to be a blatant lie. Even during Chhath, they cannot run trains properly for the Biharis who have been facing the brunt of migration for 20 years under the NDA government.”
Criticizing the NDA for neglecting Bihar’s development, the RJD chief said, “My fellow Biharis are forced to travel in trains in inhuman conditions. How shameful is this? Due to the wrong policies of the double engine government, more than 4 crore people from Bihar migrate for work every year.”
