Buxar, Oct 25 (IANS) Former IPS officer and BJP candidate from Buxar Sadar seat Anand Mishra on Saturday expressed confidence of winning the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and said the people of the state now recognize the NDA’s commitment to welfare and development.
His comments come a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the grand alliance during a massive rally in Siwan, accusing them of trying to revive the “Jungle Raj” era in Bihar.
Speaking to reporters, Mishra said, “By now you must have understood that our BJP and NDA really want the welfare and progress of Bihar. They want to promote the right candidates – who can unite the society, uphold the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and work towards building a developed India with a developed Bihar and a developed Buxar.”
Describing the response of the public to Amit Shah’s rally in Buxar, Mishra said, “Home Minister Amit Shah was given a warm welcome in Buxar and the constant response of the crowd to everything he said shows their faith in the Government of India. All the people who came there took a pledge that for the future of better Buxar and better Bihar, we will move forward with determination to make Golden Bihar.”
Taking a dig at dynastic politics, he said, “If you look at the past, many times politics was used only to serve personal or family interests. But today, Bihar is awake – it has given direction to the country’s politics. This time, Bihar is determined not to give any chance to those who will harm its progress for their own selfishness.”
BJP national secretary Rituraj Sinha also supported Mishra’s confidence and said that the people of the state would give the NDA an “overwhelming victory”.
Speaking to IANS, Sinha said, “Whatever was lacking in the 2020 Assembly elections and 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Shahabad soil has now been fulfilled. People have made up their mind to give a massive victory to the NDA. The huge crowd and enthusiasm at Amit Shah’s rally in Buxar clearly showed that Shahabad will play a leading role in ensuring the NDA’s return to power.”
He said, “We have received tremendous support from the people of Buxar. Tomorrow Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also visit the district. This time NDA will win all the 22 seats of Shahabad.”
Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11 to elect 243 members. Counting of votes and declaration of results will take place on November 14.
