Patna, Oct 24 (IANS) Bhojpuri film superstar and BJP MP Ravi Kishan made an emotional appeal to the people and urged parents to educate their children about the state’s past and how far it has come under the NDA government.
Addressing a public meeting in Sandesh block of Bhojpur on Friday, Ravi Kishan said, “I urge all parents to tell their children how Bihar was 20 years ago – how people lived in fear and how crime ruled the streets.”
Kishan said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always said that we should not forget history. Bihar’s reputation was very bad earlier. But after our government came, the pace of development has increased. Now we are walking on the path of progress and we should never go back.”
Recalling his experiences, the actor-turned-politician said, “When I came to Bihar in 2001 to shoot Saiyaan Hamar, the roads were in a terrible state. The atmosphere was appalling – firing, extortion and kidnapping were common. But today, Bihar has completely changed. I appeal to everyone to tell their children about the ‘Jungle Raj’ of 20 years ago so that history is never repeated.”
Ravi Kishan expressed confidence that after November 14, Bihar will achieve new heights of progress and said that everything will become clear on the results day.
Reacting strongly to Tejashwi Yadav’s comment calling Chief Minister Nitish Kumar old and sick, Ravi Kishan came out in an emotional defense of the JDU leader.
He said, “Nitish Kumar sacrificed himself for Bihar. His wife never entered the Chief Minister’s residence. He dedicated his entire life to beautifying Bihar and bringing it out of its misery. There is not a single stain on his political career.”
Making an emotional comparison, Ravi Kishan asked, “When our parents grow old, do we abandon them on the streets? Nitish Kumar has given everything for Bihar. He has energy, honesty and dedication.”
The BJP MP further said that people’s support towards NDA will once again be seen in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections to be held in two phases.
He said, “Those who supported RJD till yesterday are now standing against them. People will rise above caste politics and vote for NDA. I am confident that a double engine government will once again be formed in Bihar under the leadership of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar.”
