A South Dakota The company is recalling more than 2.2 million pounds (998,000 kilograms) Korean Barbecue pork jerky sold on costco and Sam’s Club stores because the product may be contaminated with metal fragments, federal health officials said Friday.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Alpena’s LSI, Inc. Voluntarily recalled the product after customers complained they found jagged metal pieces. Company officials said the metal came from a conveyor belt used in production. No injuries have been confirmed,
The recall involves 14.5-ounce (410-gram) and 16-ounce (450-gram) plastic pouches of meat jerky labeled “Golden Island Fire-Grilled Pork Jerky Korean Barbecue Recipe.” About four dozen lots of jerky are affected. The products have a shelf life of one year, with best by dates from October 23, 2025 to September 23, 2026. Packages contain establishment number M279A inside the USDA mark of inspection.
People The recalled jerky should not be eaten and should be thrown away or returned to stores for a refund.
