Secretary of Defense pete hegseth Reported plans not to be denied National Guard ‘Response forces’ in every state before the 2026 midterms.
During a conference call on Thursday (Oct. 23), a reporter asked Hegseth about a memo circulated on social media that called for, “establishing a National Guard response force that will be trained in crowd control and civil unrest in all 50 states by April 2026”.
The Defense Secretary responded, “I will not answer specifically on anything involved in the planning process.”
