Patna, October 24 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified his attack on the Grand Alliance in the Begusarai rally and made a strong appeal to the youth and urged them to vote carefully this time to build a prosperous and developed Bihar.

Before addressing Begusarai, PM Modi, during his visit to the birthplace of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur, fiercely targeted RJD-Congress regarding Jungle Raj and held them responsible for pushing the state into darkness.

PM Modi mocked the rift and infighting in the grand alliance over seat-sharing and took a jibe at ‘mahalathbandhan’, suggesting that the allies were engaged in bitter confrontation over seat-sharing and were motivated by self-interest rather than public issues.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi called on the youth to make conscious and careful choices for their future, just as their parents did two decades ago.

He said that the NDA government brought Bihar out of jungle raj and started the era of good governance and now it is time for them to elect a government which will take this good governance towards prosperity.

“I have come to make a special appeal to the youth of Bihar. It was the month of October 2005 when your parents freed Bihar from Jungle Raj and chose good governance. Now, this October-November of 2025 has brought new opportunities and a big responsibility for you. You have to build a prosperous Bihar for yourself and the future generations of Bihar.”

Mocking the grand alliance, he also tried to draw a distinction between the ‘progressive’ NDA and the ‘corrupt’ grand alliance and said, “On the one hand, you have progressive leaders, but on the other hand, you have the grand alliance.”

He further criticized RJD and Congress and said that the former is the most corrupt family of Bihar, while the latter is the most corrupt family of the country.

He said that most of the members of Lalu Yadav’s family are on bail, while many members of the Gandhi family are on bail for Congress, in such a situation the people of Bihar cannot trust them for their future.

Advocating a ‘developed Bihar’, PM Modi said the 1960s saw substantial activity in Bihar with refinery centres, fertilizer factories and power stations.

He said, “Jungle Raj destroyed everything and closed down factories. The people who ruled during Jungle Raj installed their children in high offices but left the people of Bihar destitute.”

He said that the NDA government laid the foundation of prosperous Bihar.

He said ending the Jungle Raj is the first step towards reducing the sufferings of the people and the state will reach new heights in the next phase.

“Nayi raftaar se chalega Bihar, jab aayegi NDA sarkar (Bihar will move forward with a new pace when the NDA government returns to power)”, PM Modi said, eliciting loud cheers from the crowd.
