Patna, October 24 (IANS) Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday expressed happiness over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bihar and called it a good sign for the state.
Speaking to IANS, Jitan Ram Manjhi said, “Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Bihar is no less than an auspicious sign. He is coming at a time when preparations for the elections are going on. During this visit, he will interact with the people of the state and they should welcome this step wholeheartedly.”
Commenting on the opposition, the Union Minister alleged that discord is increasing in the India faction.
He said, “Clear cracks are visible in the alliance. Everyone is busy opening a front against each other. Can you imagine the development of Bihar in such a situation? Many of their candidates have serious allegations against them. Can we expect that people accused of such issues will bring development in the state? Absolutely not.”
On the situation of NDA, Manjhi said that everything is fine within the alliance.
“Everything is fine in our camp. If anyone has any objection, they are free to say it openly. Our collective goal is to accelerate the development of Bihar,” he told IANS.
Responding to the questions raised by the grand alliance leaders regarding the leadership of the NDA, Manjhi clarified, “I want to make it clear that everything has been finalized within the NDA. We are contesting the elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. I strongly believe that the people of Bihar understand that Nitish Kumar will be our chief ministerial candidate. There should be no doubt about it.”
He also rejected reports of any resentment within the alliance.
“Even if there is minor dissent among some people, our Prime Minister is very liberal and believes in open discussion to resolve issues,” he said.
Manjhi expressed confidence in the NDA’s return to power, citing its commitment towards development and public welfare.
He said, “Looking at the current situation of Bihar and the mood of the people, it is clear that our government will be formed again. The NDA has always given priority to the interests of the people and worked for their development. In view of this, the path to victory in Bihar is once again being paved for us.”
