BJP led government in Maharashtra a big scam, threat to expose opposition a big joke: Saamna

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) has alleged that the Mahayuti government led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and its functioning is a big scam in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray’s party in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ on Friday claimed that new evidence of scam in the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana has emerged, which shows that people embezzled funds meant for ‘sisters’.

Saamana alleged that the looted amount was between Rs 25 crore and the scam happened with the connivance of CM Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde and others.

The Thackeray camp ridiculed Mahayuti allies’ threats to expose the opposition’s scams and claimed that Mahayuti’s threat to the opposition was a “big joke”.

In the editorial, the Thackeray camp said that CM Fadnavis and others always claimed that the Ladki Bahin scheme was launched to empower women economically, but in reality, it is an industry to “buy women votes” for just Rs 1,500 (monthly financial assistance). “About 12,431 men took advantage of this scheme. While they received monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,500 throughout the year, it has also become clear that one lakh ineligible women took advantage of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. The government, which deposited Rs 164.20 crore in the accounts of ineligible beneficiaries, could not stop this scam.”

Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena took a dig at the Fadnavis-led government, saying even treason has limits and it should not be tolerated without punishment. It taunted, “There is a Fadnavis-led government in the state and scams are being done by the opposition! So what is the Chief Minister doing? Resign and go and sit in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh office.”

“Chief Minister Fadnavis has warned that he will expose the scams of the opposition related to the voter list. It is not good for Chief Minister Fadnavis to make such a bold statement on Diwali that he will expose how people from the opposition parties have benefited due to the scams in the voter list. This means that the campaign that the opposition has launched in the state against the Election Commission and the vote rigging scam has been strongly exposed. “Hit Fadnavis’s heart,” the editorial said.

The Thackeray camp claimed that it was a joke that Fadnavis was talking about exposing scams of the opposition. The corruption of BJP and its people has come to light again and again in the elections. “The Election Commission is under their influence. The officers taking district level election decisions are theirs. The entire machinery of inclusion and deletion of names in the voter list is in the hands of Fadnavis-controlled officials. What can be said about the allegation that the opposition benefited from the election scam when the Election Commission is working under the instructions of the government?” He asked.

“Two days ago, senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat had said that there are around 9,500 fake voters in his Sangamner constituency. The authorities hurried to include these names in the voter list without verification. This is because the government wanted to defeat Thorat. The addresses of many of these voters are outside the constituency. In view of this, the ruling coalition claimed that the opposition benefited from the voter list scam. It The claim is sheer nonsense,” the Thackeray camp said. It said that the ruling party should not fool the opposition, adding that it is ridiculous to claim that the opposition benefited from the voter list scam.

“Fadnavis has talked about scams of opposition parties 20 times in the last 20 hours. In fact, Fadnavis saying that such a scam has taken place and the opposition has also benefited from it, means that it is an open admission that there is a big scam going on in the election system and voter list. The Fadnavis government is doing many things so that the scams being done by his government do not get much publicity and the cases are suppressed. But. Then, he will speak about the scams and so-called scams of the opposition,” the Thackeray camp said sarcastically.

According to the editorial, the land scam of Pune’s Jain Trust is worth Rs 3,500 crore. “If people from opposition parties are involved in this, then Fadnavis should say so. The strings of this Jain Trust land scam have reached the Chief Minister’s office. The Jain community in Pune is demanding answers from Fadnavis against this land scam, but he is pointing fingers at the opposition parties, which is a joke.”
