According to current and former election officials, voter fraud is generally rare and detectable because the country’s election processes provide numerous safeguards.
Voters must sign their ballot papers before returning them.
Davis, A republicanHas been previously convicted of counterfeiting and other crimes Florida and Colorado, according to a press release from the office of District Attorney George Brauchler.
Brauchler’s office said, “Those who seek to corrupt our elections or reduce our votes – even by a single ballot – will find the DA’s office intent on imprisoning them.”
Davis is represented by an attorney with the state public defender’s office, which does not comment on its cases in the media.
Davis will be sentenced Jan. 9. He may be placed on probation or sentenced to up to three years in jail.
