More than 1.37 lakh farmers registered for paddy purchase in less than 2 months in UP

According to an official statement issued in Lucknow, more than 1.37 lakh farmers have registered themselves till Thursday, October 23 for paddy procurement in Uttar Pradesh.

Farmer registration for paddy sale for the 2025-26 procurement season began on September 1 and till October 23 (12 noon), 1,37,166 farmers had registered themselves. It said that since October 1, more than 35,630 metric tonnes have been procured in these divisions.

The state government has set a target of opening 4,000 procurement centres, of which 3,790 are already operational.

According to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, farmers are rapidly registering for the sale of paddy.

The registration is being done through www.fcs.up.gov.in and UP Kisan Mitra Mobile App.

OTP based single registration system has been implemented for paddy sale. Farmers can complete the registration by entering the OTP received through SMS on their mobile phone. The statement said that the payments are being made directly into the Aadhaar linked bank accounts of the farmers.

Procurement started from October 1 in Meerut, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Agra, Aligarh and Jhansi divisions of western Uttar Pradesh.

Apart from this, procurement of paddy is also going on in Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur districts of Lucknow division.

The state government has set a target of purchasing 60 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.

MSP of common paddy has been determined 2,369 per quintal and for Grade-A paddy 2,389 per quintal. The state government has directed that payment should be made to the farmers within 48 hours.

Paddy with moisture content up to 17% is eligible for procurement, of which 3,790 paddies have already been established.

Paddy procurement in eastern Uttar Pradesh will start from November 1.

It will cover the divisions of Chitrakoot, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Devipatan, Basti, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Prayagraj.

Similarly, in Lucknow division, procurement will start from November 1 in Lucknow, Rae Bareli and Unnao and will continue till February 28, 2026.
