One indigo flight from Kolkata in eastern india Srinagar had to make one in the north emergency landing The crew reported a fuel leak on Wednesday.

Flight 6E 6961 landed safely at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh state at around 4.10 pm local time.

All 166 passengers on board the plane are reported to be safe.

In another aviation-related incident, Air India flight AI191, operating between Mumbai and Newark in the US, was forced to return to the coastal Indian city soon after takeoff due to a suspected technical problem.

According to local reports, the flight crew decided to return as a precautionary measure and the plane landed safely back in Mumbai.

As a result, both flight AI191 and its return leg, AI144, were cancelled.
