Consulate General of India in Osaka received 100 copies of Bhagavad Gita

Chandigarh, Oct 22 (IANS) 100 copies of Srimad Bhagavad Gita (Japanese Edition) were presented to Chandru Appar, Consul General of India in Osaka, at a special event organized by the Haryana government.

The copies were formally handed over by Vikas Pandey, assistant professor at Osaka University, and Nikita, who is currently living in Tokyo.

On this occasion, Joint Director of Foreign Cooperation Department of Haryana Government, Hina Bindlish, Advisor to Chief Minister in Foreign Cooperation Department Pawan Chaudhary, Honorary Secretary of KDB Pawan Chaudhary, HSIIDC GM Upendra Singhal and Sanjay Garg also participated in the program through video conference.

During the programme, a detailed discussion was held on spreading the eternal message of Gita in Japan and other countries.

CGI Osaka, Appar expressed interest in conducting an online Gita teaching course for Japanese students. It is noteworthy that International Geeta Mahotsav will be celebrated in Kurukshetra, the birthplace of Bhagwat Geeta, from 15 November to 5 December.

During this period, cultural and spiritual programs will be organized in 51 countries.

On the occasion, the Haryana delegation also requested CGI Osaka to ensure participation of Japanese delegates in the International Gita Mahotsav and the upcoming Surajkund Fair as part of the cultural exchange programs between the two countries.

The divine confluence of spirituality, culture and art will be displayed in the International Geeta Mahotsav.

Geeta Mahotsav has gained immense success and popularity since 2016. Lakhs of people from India and abroad participate in the Bhagavad Gita Mahotsav.

Last year, around 45 to 50 lakh people participated, and a similar number are expected to vote this year too.

For the first time in 2019, the International Gita Mahotsav was held in Mauritius and London, followed by Canada in September 2022, Australia in April 2023, and Sri Lanka and England in 2024.
