The ruling Congress in Telangana on Wednesday declared V Naveen Yadav as its candidate for the November 11 by-election in Jubilee Hills assembly constituency in Hyderabad.

Yadav had contested the 2014 Telangana Assembly elections on behalf of Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM and the 2018 elections as an independent. Yadav (41) had joined Congress in 2023.
It is noteworthy that recently a police case was registered against Naveen Yadav for distributing printed e-EPIC without hologram at an event here.
The by-election has become necessary due to the death of BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath due to a heart attack in June this year.
