Four-five (80%) people are concerned about the online scam about older friends and family, some believe that bank closures may push more than 65 to the fraudsters.
Edge Closure has fulfilled concerns, 61% have been surveyed for people Virgin’s media O2 said that they are forcing older people to rely on online services, putting them at greater risk of walking in scammers.

Get online week ahead of the Digital Inclusion Campaign (20 to 26 October). Virgin Media O2 said it is starting a free “Scam School” session in the UK, which is given in partnership with the Good Things Foundation.
The sessions to be advertised at the local level and on the website of Virgin Media O2 are designed to help people with low digital confidence, helping them to provide advice to spot and get additional assistance to prevent scams and to stay safe online.
Macenzi, director of the prevention of fraud in the Virgin Media O2, said: “Scammers are ever getting more confident and can be a victim. From fake investment opportunities to messages from reliable banks or delivery companies, fraudsters are always changing their strategy.”
The research was conducted by census among over 3,000 people across the UK in September and October.
