The government plans to block the sun after warning of ‘serious’ risks.

Web Desk, 11/09/2025

British Government has rejected the use of solar Geoaninizing-Saying this Artificially cool the planet,

In an official reaction to parliamentary Environment audit committeeThe government said it opposed the solar radiation management, which was often described as “Surya Dimping”, and confirmed that Britain would not pursue his deployment to Antarctica or other places.

In the statement, the committee called for clarity on the status of the UK, warning that experiments being considered in the country – such as using balloons to quit dust in the environment or spraying seawater to illuminate clouds – set a dangerous example.

The geo -engineering intentionally refers to the planet’s climate system such as bright clouds with seawater spray, releasing reflective particles in the upper atmosphere, or diluting the heat clouds that trapped the heat.

Techniques are highly controversial. Advocates say that if they cross climate goals, they can temporarily buy time. But critics argue that they take huge environmental risk, and the root cause of cutting greenhouse gas emissions – the root cause climate crisis,

The statement came in the same week when a group of more than 40 polar scientists published a comprehensive assessment, stating that the proposed geoenizering concepts to slow down polar snow loss were unrealistic, ineffective and could bring “severe environmental damage”.

Earlier this year, the government’s £ 800M advanced research and invention agency confirmed that some £ 50M explorers of its budget would fund Gioinenizering Research, including possible ways to cool the Earth.

The proposals had an attempt to thicken the Arctic sea ice, bright clouds above the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, and the natural mineral balloons floated in the stratosphere, which would be recovered after “hours or weeks”.

A study published in Limitations in science This week this week assessed the five most widely discussed polar geoenegening ideas. All basic tests for viability and safety failed.

Other researchers involved in the study warned that particle-based sunlight can disrupt significantly monsoon for deeming farming, accelerate regional droughts, or create new political stress when deployed without international consent.

James Kirkam, a co-author of the study and a coalition of governments focusing on melting ice, said that many ideas were being pushed with Sleek Public Relations Campaign despite the very little possibility of success.

“Any current Geo -Engineering ideas do not conduct an objective and comprehensive test about its use in the coming decades,” he said in the Journal article.

Britain has first funded limited research in solar geoenizing, an idea that has been debated for over 50 years. But such efforts have always been fulfilled with a terrible response.

Environmental groups and many scientists have long warned that pursuing solar geo -engineering can legalize its use by other countries or private actors.

The government of the UK government keeps it in line with other countries, which have publicly rejected to deploy solar radiation management, even for some research. The ministers said that Britain’s priority remains emissions and international diplomacy, not unused intervention.
