Srinagar, 23 August: A day after an order was issued to handle the management of 215 schools associated with the Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) and Fala-e-Aam Trust (FAT) banned by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, PDP President Mehboboba Mufti questioned the time of a time when a popular government on Saturday spoke when a popular government gave flaws.
“They (J&K government) are taking them (management of schools associated with restricted Jamaat-e-Islami)?
According to the government order, the management committee of 215 schools will be handled by the concerned District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, which will properly propose a fresh management committee in the appointed time after verifying the schools.
This decision comes when the validity of the managing committee of these 215 schools is over and adversely reported by intelligence agencies, the order states. For the purpose of protecting the educational future of students enrolled in these schools, the government has decided in the practice of powers provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir through Jammu and Kashmir School Education Rules 2010.
The order asks the District Magistrate and the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that the educational career of the students enrolled in these schools is not affected in any way to ensure proper steps in consultation and coordination with the School Education Department.
According to the National Education Policy (NEP) norms in these schools, they also need to ensure quality education.
However, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader and MLA Reyaz Ahmed Khan said that the order does not align with the “intentions” of the government as Education Minister Sakina Itu had earlier said that principals of nearby schools will run these schools.
“In this, the government’s intention is something else, and the order says something else. The Education Minister (Sakina Itu) has clarified himself in one of his social media messages that its proposal was that the administration of these schools will be run by the nearby principals to their verification. But the government’s order has come in this regard. (AI)
