An Air India flight from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi was converted into Chennai on Sunday after a suspected technical issue and weather conditions with the route, the airline confirmed.
According to Flightradar24, Air India flight AI2455 was scheduled to visit Thiruvananthapuram at 7:15 pm, but left at 8:17 pm. The flight, originally expected to reach Delhi at 10:45 pm, landed safely in Chennai instead.
The Air India spokesman said in a statement, “The AI2455 flight driver working from Thiruvananthapuram to Delhi on August 10 gave a precautionary turn to Chennai due to a suspected technical issue and in view of the weather situation, the flight lands safely in Chennai, where the aircraft will undergo the necessary checks.”
An Air India spokesman said, “We regret the inconvenience to the affected passengers. Our associate passengers on the ground in Chennai are supporting the passengers to reduce it and as soon as possible the passengers are making alternative arrangements to fly to their respective sites as soon as possible.”
The airline insisted that the safety of the passenger and the crew is its top priority. (AI)
