A spokesperson of the Washo County Sheriff Department said that an officer was involved in the Grand Sierra Resort, but no further details were given.
The Reno Police Department warned the residents to stay out of the area. On Monday, several emergency vehicles including several ambulances were seen outside the casino. The police did not say how many people were injured.
A member of the Reno City Council, Devon Reese, said he was informed by the office of the city manager that the deadly people were reported. He did not have additional details.
Reese said in a social media post, “My heart breaks for victims, their families and our entire community. Reno is strong – but we are not immune for the epidemic of gun violence that catching this nation.”
