A bicycle rally was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports today in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) in Srinagar on Sunday, under the Fit India Initiative of the Khelo India Scheme and to celebrate Kargil Vijay Divas.
ASI BSF Vivek Singh emphasized the importance of organizing this cycle rally every year. He said, “According to the PM’s vision of Fit India, BSF organizes a bicycle rally every year. Because of this, BSF soldiers will also remain fit, and a message will tell everyone how to maintain their fitness.”
He also mentioned that through this, people can reduce the risk of lifestyle diseases. He said, “We should have such rallies again and again so that the youth get some encouragement on how we can stay fit.”
Asked whether these events should be more often or not, Singh said, “He should definitely be, it gives a message that our Kashmir and our India wants to stay fit. Such events should be held regularly, and it gives a message to the youth so that they can fit their role in the development of the country.”
Dig BSF Raghubir Singh also provided further insights in this rally. He told ANI, “This is a bicycle rally organized by the Kashmir Frontier, and these are BSF soldiers. The rally will start from this place and end in a botanical garden. The bicycles and citizens are willing to spread about 70 Jawan fitness messages, and they will participate in the event.”
Singh also emphasized the importance of physical fitness for youth and soldiers. He said, “Physical fitness is important for a young man. And you can understand that whenever there is a soldier, whether in police or someone else, whether a soldier or a soldier in uniform, it is very important to remain physically fit for him, and it is very important for military duty and is a very important part of his curriculum.”
Meanwhile, Union Youth Affairs Minister and Sports Mansuh Mandavia participated in the special edition of ‘Fit India Sunday’ held in Ahmedabad on Sunday, with armed forces personnel, to celebrate Kargil Vijay Day.
To celebrate Kargil Vijay Day, Gujarat Vidyapeeth has been organized on a bicycle from Sabarmati Ashram on a bicycle on Sunday, which Mahatma Gandhi used to ride a bicycle regularly. The armed forces joined us and gave the message that Sunday is a health mantra on the cycle.
