ISKUT – Three workers trapped in a remote northern British Columbia mine have been rescued after being underground for more than 60 hours.
Red Chris Mine Operator Pneumont Corp said the three people were safely purchased on the surface at around 10:40 pm on Thursday.
It said that Kevin Cums, Darren Madukke and Jessie Chubati-BC were in good health and souls after two rockfalls were underground by two rocks in the morning for a BC-based high-tech drilling.
The company said in a statement, “It was a careful planned and carefully executed rescue plan.”
Pneumont said that men had access to food, water and air in a shelter chamber of gold and copper mines, which is about 500 kilometers north of terrace, BC.
It described an operation involving drones and a remote-controlled scoop, which dug a huge rockfall, which was estimated to be 20 to 30 meters long and seven to eight meters high.
,[Our] The special line-off-vision scoop successfully cleaned the debris falling from the access tunnel. With the area stabilizing, the emergency response team advanced into the affected area using equipment with an engineer falling object protective system, ”said this.
Such systems are usually used to attach vehicles and operators in a dangerous environment.
“On reaching the Sharan Chamber, the team found Kevin, Darren and Jessie in a stable position. Combat with the emergency response team, they returned to the surface using the same protected equipment.”
The company located in Denver, Kolo called the result “tireless cooperation, technical expertise, and above, the result of safety and care”.
“We expand our heartfelt gratitude to the rescue teams and all of them.”
It states that workers were being supported by medical and welfare teams and their families were informed.
BC’s mining and important mineral minister Jagrap Brar said in a social media post that he cannot “describe the relief that we all feel knowing that these three workers are going to be able to go home for their families.”
Bernard Vessals, head of global security head of Pneumont, defended a few hours after expressing confidence in defense.
He said that the drone was swept away at the interruption of debris on the mine and a stable route was found for steel security asylum where men were giving shelter.
Vessals told a virtual press briefing, “There is a natural flow of air through the medium, which is actually a positive sign where workers are located.”
The workers were identified by Hi-Tech, saying that Cumms was from Ontario, BC from Maduke and Manitoba to Chubati. It described coumbs and chubaty as a drilller and Maduke as an assistant to a drilller.
