Alumni Association of NIT Srinagar to host ‘Sangam -2025’ on 10-11 October

Srinagar, July 22, KDC: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) will support its Grand Alumni Reunion on October 10 and 11, 2025 in collaboration with the Srinagar Alumni Association, “Sangam -2025” (Student Alumni Networking for Growth, Aspirations and Mansiship).

The event will bring the alumni from within the region, two days of ceremonies across the country and abroad for two-day ceremonies, mentorships, cultural programs and branches for alumni-student interactions.

In his message, Director NIT Srinagar Prof.

He said, “Sangam 2025 will not only celebrate previous achievements, but will also give ground work for the future of cooperation, mentorship and shared development”, he said.

“We are committed to making this phenomenon memorable and impressive, and I increase my full support for all the initiatives taken in this direction,” said Prof. Kanujia.

Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Atikur Rahman said that the alumni community is one of the greatest assets, guidance and contributions of our institute, which can inspire the visit to our current students.

“Through Sangam 2025 and related programs, we aim to strengthen this important relationship,” he said.

These initiatives were fully discussed during the first and second alumni union meetings held at NIT Srinagar on 15 June and 16 July 2025. With the members of the major association, Dean, alumni and representatives of the office of international affairs, contributed to ideas and finalized the incident schedule and budget.

Pro. Ma Shah, Alumni and Dean of International Affairs, with the team, in which Dr. HS Pali, Associate Dean and Dr. Dinesh Kumar coordinator’s alumnus is the coordinator of the affairs, announced a consultation with all the members of the Alumni Association, including President Professor MIR, Vice President Er. Aamir Ali, General Secretary Er. Instead of Ali Mohammed, Secretary Syed Javed Bukhari, Additional Secretary Dr. M. Murslane, Joint Secretary – I, Prof., Prof. Manzoor Ahmed Ahangar, Joint Secretary II, Er. Ajit Singh and Treasurer, Prof. Shahid Salim.

Pro. Ma Shah, alumni of Dean and IA, Prof. for their full support and protection of the initiative of alumni launched.

He said that a series of new programs have been introduced to strengthen relations between alumni, current students and faculty of this institute.

He said, “We have launched to strengthen the bonds between our alumni and the institute. As part of these efforts, NIT Srinagar will publish its first annual alumni bulletin, titled” Bridge and Bikans – Bikans – A revolution of NIT – NIT Srinagar’s alumni, “he said.

Pro. Shah said that in the presence of various dignitaries, the inaugural edition will be unveiled by Director NIT Srinagar during Sangam – 2025. The bulletin will contribute to both alumni and current students, including articles, short stories, personal memory, life lessons and practical knowledge and the last date to present has been extended to 30 July 2025.

It will be edited by ER. Rashid Ahmed Phani, a prestigious alumni of the erstwhile Regional Engineering College Srinagar.

To support students who are yet to secure campus placements, the office of Dean Alumni and International Affairs has launched the campaign (HHA) holding hands. Under this initiative, alumni are encouraged to expand guidance, mentorship, job referral and career advice for our outgoing students.

“We ask our alumni to expand a guiding hand – through the support of mentarship, referral, or career. Together, we can make sure that no student leaves behind,” Pro. Shah said.

Another major initiative, the eminent alumni lecture series (EALS) or students alumni interaction (SAI), during the Sangam and during the academic year, the department-wise alumni-student sessions will be included.

Departmental coordinators are currently being appointed. Alumni are invited to propose alignment and interactive sessions with their areas of expertise and industry experience. Dr. M Murslain will be the overall in -charge of this lecture series.

Additionally, the institute has supported an open appeal for alumni Alma Mater (SAM) to contribute in any possible way. This may include donating books, educational materials, or providing financial assistance to the disadvantaged students.

Pro. Shah said that even hearty advice can have a meaningful impact on the lives of our students. Meanwhile, Dean’s office has asked alumni to actively participate in these initiatives and share their ideas, worries and contributions. “We are eager to hear from you – your thoughts, your response and your suggestions”.

The Alumni Association is also inviting potential sponsors to participate in various roles for our huge crowds, ranging from alumni day, reunion, chapter programs, cultural shows, seminars, and alumni lecture chain (ABC) etc.

Meanwhile, Dean’s office has invited alumni to actively participate in these initiatives and share their ideas, concerns and contributions.

“We are eager to hear from you – your thoughts, your response and your suggestions.

These initiatives are part of the broad vision of NIT Srinagar, which is to build a network of more vibrant, engaged and inclusive alumni, which plays an active role in the development of the institute and shaped the future of its students, ”said. (KDC)
