New York/Washington, July 21: The US House Committee on Foreign Affairs has welcomed the designation of the resistance front for a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan, as a global terrorist organization on the Pahgam attack, who does not get a pass, but does not do justice.
Last week, the US nominated Resistance Front (TRF) as a designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO) and a specially designated Global Terrorist (SDGT).
Under the chairmanship of Representative Brian Mast, “President (Donald) Trump calls it such.
The committee said, “When you do not get the butcher citizens, you don’t get a pass – you get justice. It was a terrorist attack – less and straight,” the committee said.
It also cited its post on the X date on 22 April, when the committee slammed a report of the New York Times on the Pahgam attack, titled “at least 24 tourists gunned by terrorists in Kashmir”.
The majority of the House Foreign Affairs Committee had said, “Hey, @nytimes, we decided it for you. It was a terrorist attack. Whether it is India or Israel, when it comes to terrorism, NYT is removed from reality.” In the post, the House Foreign Affairs Committee hit the word “terrorists” in the title and replaced it with the word “terrorists”, written in bold red letters.
US State Secretary Marco Rubio had announced a punitive measure against TRF, stating that it was a part of a commitment to combat Washington’s terrorism and implement the call for justice for President Trump’s Pahgam attack. TRF, a Lashkar-e-Tabiba (Late) Front and Proxy, claimed responsibility for the 22 April 2025, Pahalgam attack, killing 26 civilians.
India welcomed the US decision, the Foreign Minister K. Jaishankar described it as the “strong affinity” of Indo-American counter-term cooperation. (Agencies)
