Srinagar, July 18, KDC: Under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Competitive Innovation Program (JKCIP), the incubation and startup cell of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Kashmir (Skit-K) was organized, one day outreach program was organized, titled ‘Young Minds Innovation:
The objective of the event is to motivate, educate and attach the debutant in the entire region, which facilitates dialogue between stakeholders in innovation, research and agriculture.
In this program, Vice Chancellor of Skist-K Prof. Nazir Ahmed Geetai participated, which emphasized the need to cultivate an entrepreneur mentality among the youth.
Earlier, Dr. Asha Pandit, Coordinator JKCIP, Skuast-K, provided observation of the objectives of JKCIP in its introductory comments.
Dr. Sartaj Ahmed Shah, Director of Agriculture, Kashmir,, focused on important challenges faced by farmers and entrepreneurs in the region, including climate vulnerability, market access and lack of technical integration. He encouraged the young minds to develop scalable solutions, need-a scalable solutions to suit the unique agricultural and cultivation conditions of the valley.
Director Research and Nodal Officer JKCIP Pro. Aaron Naik talked about various components of JKCIP and its strategic vision to create a competent environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
University officials, Director Planning and Monitoring, Prof. Sa Wani, Registrar Azmat Alam Khan, many hods and many students from the valley participated in the workshop.
The outreach program saw active participation from students, researchers, young entrepreneurs and agri-startup candidates. It served as a platform for knowledge exchange, mentorship, and Ideration, which strengthens the sight of Scest-K to be a hub for agricultural innovation in the area. (KDC)
