Israeli strikes at least 30 in Gaza as there is a conflict under the blockade in hospitals.

Web Desk, 18/07/2025

The Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed at least 30 Palestinians since dawn, medical sources told Al Jazira that the destruction of the Enclave struggles to cope with the increasing number of injuries amidst the bombing of Israel.

According to Al Jazeera, three people were killed in the neighborhood of Eastern Gaza city on Friday, while five others were killed in an airstrike on Jabalia N-Nazla in North Gaza.

In another incident, an Israeli strike targeted tents sheltered to the Palestinians displaced in Al-Mavasi, southern Gaza-first a “safe area” was labeled in an area-at least five people were killed, including infants, and a large fire. Al Jazira said that Al-Mavasi has come into repeated attacks despite his designation.

The toll also includes seven Palestinians who were seeking help when they were killed according to the network.

Al Jazeera correspondent Honey Mahmood said that the injured victims, including the children, were rushed to Nasir Hospital, who had some bearing injuries to the drone attacks.

“Drone missiles are packed with nails, metals and pellets that explode at high speed, leading to internal bleeding,” said Mahmood. “These attacks increase and target people coming in large crowds, markets or for water.”

“While Israel claims to use sophisticated weapons, when we look at the ground, we see the number of casualties what Israel is [saying]”He said, Al Jazeera said.

In Gaza, overwhelmed by daily casualties, doctors are being forced to prioritize emergency matters, often leaving chronological sick patients. Al-Jazeera quoted the dialysis patient OMDA Dagam at Al-Shifa Hospital, “Before the war, I used to receive dialysis three times a week, walked for four hours each session. At that time, the situation was stable, treatment was effective, and we used to return home well and rest.”

“Now we can barely travel to the hospital, especially since we are not eating well,” said Dagash.

Another patient of Al-Shifa, Roweda Minavi described the critical condition: “The journey here is long and expensive. After all this tiredness, we can’t get treatment sometimes. I can not get treatment, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Even the medicine we get is not good. What should we do?”

Fuel deficiency has forced hospitals to reduce services significantly. According to Al Jazeera, Ziyad Abu Humaidan of the hospital engineering department said, “Only some departments are working only. We had to cut the electricity.” “The hospital’s yard turned into a cemetery rather than the location of care and treatment. Without electricity, there is no lighting, no working medical equipment, and no support for other essential services.”

Meanwhile, according to a survey published by Israeli’s outlet Maraiv, 44 percent of Israel’s respondents said the ongoing war in Gaza would not achieve Israel’s goals, while 42 percent said it would happen. The survey showed a division with political lines, in which 73 percent of the alliance government supporters expressed confidence in military success, while 70 percent of opposition supporters disagreed.

Separately, Al Jazeera reported that Israel suffered a backlash after Gaza’s only Catholic Church on Thursday, killing three people and injured at least 10. The United States President Donald Trump allegedly approached Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as according to the White House press secretary Karolin Levit, “no positive response to the strike”.

After the call, Netanyahu stated that the strike was the result of the “stray ammunition” and an investigation was going on. Hamas condemned the incident, called it “a new crime against the places of worship and innocent displaced persons” and described it as “War of War of War against Palestinians”. (AI)
