Officials said on Thursday that Islamabad (AP) -Bhari monsoon rains killed at least 54 people in East Pakistan in 24 hours, causing total rain-related deaths to 178 in the country.
The Meteorological Department of Pakistan said that Varsha has triggered flash floods and surrounded many villages as the country experiences 82% more rainfall this month in this month.

Television news footage on Thursday showed an army helicopter immersing three members of a family from the roof of his house, as they were trapped by a flash flood on the outskirts of Rawalpindi City.
The Meteorological Department said that more rainfall is expected in the capital Islamabad, Pakistan-promoted Kashmir and other parts of the country.
Officials have warned that they cannot deny the repeat of extreme weather like 2022 floods, which affect one third of the country, Kill 1,737 people,
