Four people lost their lives and two others suffered injuries in a road accident, which occurred on Friday at Ukhal Senbathi in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
District administration Ramban has expressed grief over the incident and has declared a pre-Gratia relief of Rs 1 lakh for the families of the deceased and is Rs 25,000 every Rs 25,000 for the injured.
In a post on social media platform X, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aanyas Khan said, “District administration Ramban has expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of four precious life in a road accident in Ukhal Senbathi. Our thoughts and prayers are with bereaved families, and we have done a quick recovery to hack all.”
Union Minister Jitendra Singh also spoke to the deputy commissioner, which included an Sumo vehicle An Marg for Ukharal-Nezabathi after knowing about the incident. He expressed condolences to the loss of life and assured all necessary assistance. The deceased have been identified as Tauqir Ahmed, Abdul Latiff, Mohammad Rafiq and Ajaz Ahmed.
In a post on social media platform X, Singh wrote, “Now DC #Ramban Shah has spoken to Mohammad Angi, after knowing about the tragic road accident of a Sumo vehicle, Ukhal-Senabathi. GMC Hospital Anantnag and all necessary medical assistance are being provided.
Earlier on July 5, the pilgrims of the Chhattisgarh Amarnath Yatra maintained minor injuries after losing control of the last vehicle of Pahalgam convoy and on Saturday collided with four-trapped vehicles at the Chanderkot Langer site in Ramban district, an official said. All the injured passengers were immediately transferred to the district hospital Ramban by the district administration, which was already present on the site.
After a road accident in Ramban, 36 pilgrims suffered minor injuries on July 5, Union Minister Jitendra Singh assured that the Amarnath Yatra is all necessary arrangements for the pilgrims. (AI)
