“Pakistan wants to derail the progress of Jammu and Kashmir, break our unity”: LG Sinha

Manoj Sinha, Governor, J&K

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday accused Pakistan of derailing the development journey of the region and attempting to stop discord between communities.

Speaking at a religious ceremony at Aishmukan, LG Sinha, the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) called Pakistan a “terrorist country”, which was determined to undo the progress of hard work in Jammu and Kashmir over the last five years.

“Pakistan wants to destroy the five -year long development of Jammu and Kashmir. It wants to break our unity. We should not allow its nefarious designs to succeed,” he said.

He said that the only way to defeat the enemy’s agenda is through unity and collective resistance. “We all should fight together against terrorist country’s sick designs. Police and security forces are playing an important role in the fight against terrorism. But the cooperation of the people is equally important.”

Sinha insisted that while the administration is committed to peace and prosperity, this goal can be achieved only when the public actively supports the fight against terrorism. “We need to provide assistance and timely information to our police and security agencies to completely uproot this threat,” he said.

Appreciating the efforts of the security personnel, he also appreciated the flexibility of the people. “Despite many provocation, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown remarkable patience and restraint. We will not allow anyone to divide us,” he said- (KNO)
