Srinagar, July 05: Water Power Minister, Javed Ahmed Rana has expressed deep concern over the sudden disappearance of Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Parviz Ahmed Wani, which went missing from 11:00 am yesterday.
Wani, serving in the PHE sub-division of the Water Power Department in Ramban, was last seen near the Chenb River, in which his private vehicle was parked nearby.
Officials suspect that he would have accidentally fallen into the river. Despite the high water level in the Chenab River, a joint search operation is currently underway.
Minister Rana has directed Chief Engineer PHE Jammu to contact the district administration and other concerned officials to ensure that Wani is detected as soon as possible.
He directed for effective inter-agency coordination to determine Wani detection and determine the circumstances of his disappearance.
The Water Power Department and local authorities have started a search operation with river stretch and nearby areas.
The police is investigating the incident, and a team of officials is tirelessly trying to locate Wani.
